Papa Diego. Fresh Mexico – new fast casual restaurant chain

Papa Diego is the name of restaurants specializing in Mexican cuisine and the first brand created by Foodio Concepts, a company from the Helios group belonging to Agora. In Papa Diego, guests will taste fresh, aromatic dishes straight from Mexico, including several types of burrito, tacos and burrito bowls. The first locations will be opened in shopping centers this summer.

Papa Diego will offer its guests everything that is tasty and attractive in Mexico - expressive and fresh cuisine, full of aromatic herbs and natural spices. Food lovers will have the chance to visit Papa Diego and taste classic Mexican dishes, such as tacos and burrito - also in the form of trendy burrito bowls, as well as snacks: warm, crispy nachos with sets of surprising extras and traditional dessert churros.

– Poles are more and more eager to meet their friends at the restaurant table and together discover new, unknown flavours. They want to eat differently than in the past, they seek inspiration from all over the world and try to eat healthy. Mexican cuisine perfectly matches these needs - that is why we create Papa Diego – healthy, casual street food, full of fresh ingredients and original combinations - says Piotr Grajewski, CEO of Foodio Concepts.

The position of corporate chef of the Papa Diego chain was taken up by Rafał Sanetas, an experienced manager and chef who worked at, among others, the Hard Rock Cafe restaurant.

We love to travel and discover new things, but we are also heavily borrowing from the local backyard. Papa Diego is based on our inspirations brought from Mexico and from major European cities, where Mexican cuisine is very popular. Depending on the location, we will try to include regional ingredients in the menu as well. We want everyone to find something for themselves in it - says Piotr Komór, Vice-President of Foodio Concepts.

Papa Diego will attract guests not only with its high-quality meals, but also with its intriguing atmosphere. Mexico's unique atmosphere will be brought to Papa Diego through an original design, full of warm colours and colourful decorations, for which the KDesign architectural studio in Warsaw is responsible. The brand concept and visual identification elements were developed together with the Warsaw branding agency Mamastudio.

Foodio Concepts is a company founded by Helios of the Agora Group, the operator of the largest multiplex chain in Poland, and its business partners Piotr Grajewski and Piotr Komór, experienced restaurant managers who co-founded and managed, among others, the Blue Cactus, Iguana Lounge and Hard Rock Cafe restaurants in Warsaw.

– We observe daily how dynamically the lifestyle of Poles changes - not only the inhabitants of the biggest cities are more and more eager to eat outside their homes. With the Papa Diego brand we want to offer them the best quality food at a reasonable price and accompany them where they spend their free time, among others in shopping malls - says Tomasz Jagiełło, CEO of Helios and Member of the Management Board of Agora, who thanks to this project is embarking on a completely new business segment.

The first Papa Diego restaurant is to be launched in the summer of 2018. The next ones will be opened in the coming months - mainly in shopping malls, but also on the main streets of cities, popular promenades or in places frequently visited by tourists. Colliers International, which also cooperates with the Helios chain, advises on the lease of space for Foodio Concepts.

Helios is Poland's largest multi-screen cinema chain with 45 locations, 253 screens and over 50,000 seats. All Helios cinemas are fully equipped with digital projection technology. The company concentrates its operations mainly in medium-sized cities, but its cinemas are also present in the largest Polish agglomerations, such as Łódź, Tricity, Wrocław and Poznań. Additionally, Helios, through its subsidiary established in 2012 - NEXT FILM - is involved in distribution and production of films. The first Helios cinema in Warsaw will be opened at the end of 2018 in the Blue City shopping center. Foodio Concepts' activity, conducted since 2018, complements Helios' offer in the area of spending free time and broadens the company's involvement in the entertainment segment.
