In the prestigious WAN-IFRA European Digital Media Awards "Gazeta Wyborcza" won the Member's Choice award in the Best Paid Content Strategy category. Members of the WAN-IFRA association - media market experts and practitioners from around the world have appreciated the introduction of auto-renewable content subscriptions at Wyborcza.pl in online voting.
In the competition organized by the global association of media publishers WAN-IFRA "Gazeta Wyborcza" was awarded for the project "Sell smarter: get more subscribers, earn more, reduce churn". Its goal was to increase the share of auto-renewable subscriptions in the total number of digital subscriptions of "Gazeta Wyborcza" from February 2019. Thesuccess of the project brought not only stabilization and strengthening of relations with Wyborcza.pl subscribers, but also ensured an increase in revenues from digital subscriptions (ARPU) and an increase in the total number of digital subscriptions of "Gazeta Wyborcza". Activities in this area were conducted by the team of the subscription strategy of "Gazeta Wyborcza" in cooperation with, a.o IT, UX, analytical and newspaper editing departments.
- We are happy because it’s a distinction from the industry, people working in the media, who are aware of how difficult it is to carry out a fundamental change in the subscription model in just a year. Thanks to this operation, we feel definitely stronger and better prepared for the unexpected challenges of 2020 - comments Danuta Breguła, director of the subscription strategy of "Gazeta Wyborcza".
The "Gazeta Wyborcza" project won the Member's Choice award in the Best Paid Content Strategy category - for the first time WAN-IFRA members had the opportunity to vote for their favorite project at the European Digital Media Awards.
The winners of the WAN-IFRA European Digital Media Awards were announced on Thursday, April 23. 7 out of 9 winners are media representatives from Scandinavia. More information.
