Five awards in Innovation 2020 competition for Gazeta.pl

Gold, three silver and bronze - such awards in the Innovation 2020 competition went to projects implemented with the participation of Gazeta.pl. The jury of the prestigious competition appreciated the unusual project „Your Weekend” The Las Ever Issue, the partner campaign „Chłopi 2050, czyli Agronauci w czasach katastrofy klimatycznej” and the introduction of protection against bots and internet trolls on Gazeta.pl websites.

- We are very happy about new awards for „Your Weekend” The Last Ever Issue, but we are also pleased with the award for „Chłopi 2050”, who confirmed Gazeta.pl's position as a natural environment for brilliant campaigns. So our readers can be sure that we will surprise them even more in the future – said  Rafał Madajczak, Creative Director of Gazeta.pl.

Project „Your Weekend” The Last Ever Issue won gold in Innovative Experience/Content category and silver in Innovative Media/Media and Advertising Formats category and campaign/social action subcategory.

„Your Weekend” has been Poland’s longest running and most read adult magazine. When it went up for sale on Allegro ("Polish e-Bay") Gazeta.pl and its partners decided to buy it in order to symbolically close the magazine and show that no one else should learn about women, partnership, sex and relationships from such magazines. The entire campaign related to the release of The Last Ever Issue of „Your Weekend” intended also to provoke discussion among others on gender image, partner relations and gender equality. The latest issue of the magazine was filled with content promoting equal rights and opportunities for both genders but presented in the original layout and under original headings of the magazine.

Jury of Innovation 2020 competition also awarded two silver to the project „Chłopi 2050, czyli Agronauci w czasach katastrofy klimatycznej” - in the categories of Innovative Business in the category of CSR and Innovative Media / Other. This is Storytel radio play, which in the literary layer refers to the classics of Polish literature - "Chłopi" by Władysław Reymont. The inspiration for the story was WWF report „2050 Poland for generations”, which presented a tragic vision of the future that awaits our planet if society does not change its way of life. The topic was taken by the writer Cezary Zbierzchowski, author of science-fiction novels ("Holocaust F", "Distortion"). Gazeta.pl was the media partner of the project.

Gazeta.pl received also bronze in Innovation 2020 competition for introducing the ABT Shield tool, created by Edge NPD. It offers protection against bots and internet trolls on its websites. It is a modern solution using artificial intelligence, allowing to limit the spread of misleading information, as well as a negative impact of bots and trolls on an experience of readers and effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

These are consecutive awards for Gazeta.pl recently. In 2020, the team already received the Grand Prix and four gold prizes in the international ANDY Awards 2020 competition, awarding the best projects in the creative industry, for „Your Weekend” The Last Ever Issue, the most-awarded campaign in the history of Polish advertising.
