The Group's EBITDA profit increased by almost 19% to PLN 65.5 million, and the EBIT operating result rose by over 73% to PLN 21.2 million.
Movies and Books, which includes the Helios cinemas, NEXT FILM, and Agora Publishing, generated nearly PLN 138 million in revenue in the reporting period, making it the best second quarter in the segment's history. Revenues from cinema ticket sales and bar sales were higher than in the same period last year, amounting to PLN 56.3 million and PLN 36.7 million, respectively. In turn, revenues from publishing activities amounted to nearly PLN 16.5 million, and from film activities - nearly PLN 12.5 million. In total, the entire Films and Books segment recorded the highest revenue growth in the Agora Group, increasing by almost 46%, with EBIT profit amounting to over PLN 11 million and EBITDA profit to over PLN 30 million.
The business segment in which advertising revenue increased the most and which contributed most to the growth in advertising revenue for the entire Group was Radio. Revenue from radio advertising sales increased by 15.4% to over PLN 89 million. In the second quarter of 2025, the segment's operating results, both at the EBIT and EBITDA levels, were higher than in the same period last year and amounted to PLN 17 million and PLN 22.2 million, respectively. The segment recorded an increase in digital revenues, mainly due to higher revenues from online advertising and a greater number of Premium TOK FM subscriptions.
Revenues of the Outdoor Advertising segment in the second quarter of 2025 amounted to PLN 63.9 million, and despite a slight decline, the segment achieved high EBIT results of PLN 17 million and EBIDTA of PLN 27.7 million. The segment's revenues increased in the first half of the year thanks to higher advertising revenues, particularly from campaigns carried out on citylight, digital, and citytransport media.
In the second quarter of 2025, advertising revenue in the Digital and Printed Press segment increased. Advertising revenue in the segment increased by 6.0% to PLN 15.8 million, mainly as a result of higher advertising revenue from the online version of Gazeta Wyborcza. The segment recorded lower operating results at both the EBIT and EBITDA levels compared to the same period in 2024, mainly due to a decline in revenues from printing services and sales of publications. The daily newspaper's digital revenues (from digital subscription sales and digital advertising) in the second quarter of 2025 amounted to over PLN 19 million. This accounted for 49% of its total revenues, representing an increase of 1.7 percentage points compared to the same period a year earlier.
Total revenues of the Internet segment increased by 5.8% compared to the same period in 2024 and amounted to PLN 32.7 million. Revenue from Internet advertising sales increased by 2.1%. This increase was due to higher Internet advertising sales generated by Gazeta.pl. The segment ended the second quarter of 2025 with lower EBIT and EBITDA results compared to the second quarter of 2024.
In the second quarter of 2025, Agora Group's net operating expenses increased by 14.6% to PLN 358.4 million.
