INMA 2012 awards for "Metro" and "Gazeta Wyborcza"

Metro's project "a day without a face" won a main prize in the category" Marketing solutions for advertisers" during this year edition of INMA Awards. "Gazeta Wyborcza" received two distinctions for its magazine "Ksiazki. Magazyn do czytania" (Books. Magazine to read) and the image campaign "Wyborcza. Gazeta od waznych tematow" (Wyborcza. Newspaper on important matters).

Metro's project "A day without a face", executed as a part of the advertising campaign of the companies" Symantec, Asus and Vobis, recollected the issue of online crime and warned Internet users against disclosing personal data carelessly. In March 2011, the distributors of "Metro" wore white masks symbolizing the loss of identity in virtual world. On the same day "Metro's" cover page was dedicated to the campaign. This action showed how to effectively combine BTL actions in urban space and press advertisement.

The jury of 2012 INMA Awards competition granted to "Metro" the main prize in the category Marketing Solutions for Advertising Clients.

This is the second award granted in this competition to "Metro", which proves attractiveness of the offer and efficiency of the actions for the clients.

The image campaign of "Gazeta Wyborcza" under the title "Newspaper on important matters" won a second award in the category Readership/Usage of the Print Publication. The promotional activities executed since September 2011 till the end of the year, supported introduction of changes in the autumn editions and underlined the opinion making role of "Gazeta Wyborcza". 11 journalists and commentators from "Gazeta Wyborcza" took part in the nationwide campaign - including: Adam Michnik, Ewa Milewicz, Adam Wajrak, Dominika Wielowieyska and Jarosław Kurski. The campaign was executed in outdoor, TV, radio and cinema.

The jury appreciated also the launch of "Ksiazki. Magazyn do czytania" - the magazine prepared by "Gazeta Wyborcza" team received the third award (distinction) in the category New Brand/Product/Audience Development. The first edition of the title was available on the market on June 14th, 2011. It is a quarterly for lovers of literature and everyone interested in what is being read around the world. The magazine offers opinions on the latest books, commentaries by renown Polish and foreign writers, excerpts of books awaiting for their release and the review of 50 books read around the world. The first edition of the magazine was accompanied by the start of the action "Czytamy w Polsce" (Poles read).

In previous years "Gazeta Wyborcza" received awards in INMA competition Inter alia for the action encouraging Poles to participate in elections (2008 - first award), the action "Polska Biega" (Poland runs), editorial actions "Koniec akademii" (the end of the academy) and "Polacy Odwagi"(2010) and "Probne matury", and for the campaign to save Rospuda Valley (2008).

The results of INMA Awards 2012 were released at night of 8/9 May, 2012 in Los Angeles in USA during a world congress of the organizations uniting publishers and editors of the newspapers form over 80 countries. The jury evaluated editorial, promotional and sales campaigns of the titles from around the world. In the 77th edition of the competition over 540 projects prepared by 141 newspapers from 34 countries competed.
