"Drogowka" (Traffic department) attracts over one million viewers!

The Film by Wojtek Smarzowski, which entered Polish cinemas on February 1, 2013 has been watched by 1 000 875 people. This has been the first film this year in Polish cinemas surpassing a number of million viewers.

"Drogowka" (Traffic department) is also th film with the best opening this year. During the first weekend of film screening 176 732 people watched the film. This year only three Polish productions attracted over 100 thousand people to the cinemas during their opening weekend: "Bejbi Blues" (129 734), "Sęp" (109 431) and "Układ Zamkniety (100 946).

"Drogowka" (Traffic department) maintained number one position in the Polish boxoffice for the longest time this year. It was on top of Polish boxoffice for four consecutive weeks in February. This has been also the most popular film made by Wojciech Smarzowski.

The story of seven policemen from Warsaw traffic department was also highly valued by film industry. The film was nominated to Orly competition in six categories. Wojciech Smarzowski was awarded for the best screenplay and Arkadiusz Jakubik for the best supporting part. Bartlomiej Topa received high credits from the editorial team of TVP Kultura - with Gwarancja Kultury (Culture Guarantee) in the film category.

"Drogowka" (Traffic department) is the first film distributed by Next Film - company set up by Helios S.A. In 2013, the company plans to introduce to the Polish cinemas the following productions: "Papusza" by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze and "Ambassada" by Juliusz Machulski.
