Daniela Werbeniec, the manager of media and educational projects of Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation and co-founder of the School of Editors of "Gazeta Wyborcza" - as the first and only person from Poland - was among the winners of this year's edition of the "30 Under 30" award, organized by the International News Media Association (INMA). The poll indicates 30 young professionals from around the world as emerging stars of the news media in 2021.
The "30 Under 30" award is a part of the Young Professionals Initiative project created by INMA - a global organization associating companies from the media industry. It aims to draw attention to 30 people under the age of 30 years, who have professional achievements at an early stage of their career, occupy high positions in the media, demonstrate a great deal of knowledge about innovations, are able to influence and create the surrounding reality, as well as have managerial skills in the field of advertising, business analysis, content or products. These are representatives of the diverse markets that the news media reach - of different races, skin colors, genders and creeds.
In the second edition of the "30 Under 30" award, the members of the Young Professionals initiative committee selected 6 winners from 133 entries in each of 5 categories: Advertising, Audience, Content, Leadership and Product. The laureats are citizens of 20 countries, including Sweden, Indonesia, the United States, New Zealand, Honduras, Great Britain and Kenya.
Daniela Werbenie is the first and only representative of Poland to be awarded - in the Leadership category.. She works as a manager of media and educational projects at „Gazeta Wyborcza” and the Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation. Werbeniec is also a co-founder of the School of Editors of "Gazeta Wyborcza", the idea of which is to transfer knowledge and develop the competences of editors, thanks to contact with the best specialists, not only from the "Wyborcza" team, as well as to prepare them for the challenges that today's world poses to journalism and for the changes in contemporary media. She also worked on the implementation of the Investigative Journalism Program - the first financial grants and legal support program for investigative journalists in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, initiated by the Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation.
Daniela Werbeniec is also a scholar of the international organization Humanity in Action - a program dedicated to professionals and public interest activists who aim to make the surrounding reality more inclusive and diverse.
