A record-breaking number of activities by the Agora Group in the ‘Responsible business in Poland 2018. Good Practices’ report

A record-breaking number of activities by the Agora Group in the ‘Responsible business in Poland 2018. Good Practices’ report

A total of 48 good practices of companies and brands from the Agora Group were included in all seven areas of the 17th edition of the largest Polish CSR activities review, prepared by the Responsible Business Forum. For the third consecutive year, Agora has been one of the most active companies in Poland in terms of corporate social responsibility and, this year, it is one of the two companies with the largest number of activities.

The publication of ‘Responsible business in Poland 2018. Good practices’ presents activities undertaken by the Agora Group companies and brands related to its responsible impact on society, the environment and employees. Agora projects were included in all of the report categories. Most of them, as many as 33 activities, are examples of social engagement and development of local communities.

Agora’s good practices include:

– campaigns ‘Czytasz i pomagasz!’ [Helping by reading], ‘Prenumerata Solidarnościowa’ [Solidarity subscripion] and ‘PrenumeRATUJ’ [SubscribeSAVE], thanks to which PLN 255,000 of profit from digital subscriptions were donated to non-governmental organisations;

– screenings with Ukrainian dubbing in the Helios cinema network, which has been the first in the Polish market to offer film screenings for Ukrainian speakers in their language;

– green stops in Kraków and solar panels across Poland, AMS investments in environmentally-friendly solutions for cities;

– implementation of a code of ethics and a mechanism for reporting irregularities at Agora S.A.

The ‘Responsible business in Poland 2018. Good practices’ report presents both one-off activities related to, for example, the 100th anniversary of women achieving the right to vote or the centenary of Polish independence and long-term initiatives and projects that were listed in the publication once again.

The Agora Group’s good practices also relate to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations. Their complete overview is presented below.

The Agora Group, independently and through its companies and brands, has been undertaking activities in the area of corporate social responsibility for many years. Its approach to this issue is based on values such as transparency, building relationships with partners and the company’s environment, diversity among employees and high quality of products and services. Agora and companies from its capital group initiate and engage in a number of educational, social and cultural projects, also involving sustainable development.
