On September 5, 2017 Grzegorz Kossakowski, a longtime member of Agora's Management Board, who fathers many of Agora's successes, resigned from his position as a Member of Agora's Management Board with the effect on the date of resignation and announced that he will not apply for re-election for the next office term.
At the same time, the authorized shareholder announced the application to the Management Board of Agora the candidatures of Anna Kryńska-Godlewska and Grzegorz Kania.
"The proposed candidates will greatly strengthen the Management Board, especially during the works on a new strategic perspective for the Company and the Group. I am convinced that the rich professional experience, outstanding qualifications and achievements of the candidates to Agora's Management Board will enable the Company to open a new chapter in its operations and significantly accelerate its development activities," said Bartosz Hojka, CEO of Agora SA.
"We are ready for a more active and courageous approach to both new and existing investments. In this area, I especially count on the impressive experience of Mrs. Anna Kryńska-Godlewska. I am sure that Mr. Grzegorz Kania’s extensive competences in financial management will support Agora in its further development. At the same time, I am glad that we have so much support and trust for our actions and plans from the main shareholder," adds Bartosz Hojka.
Anna Kryńska-Godlewska has more than twenty years of experience in the field of capital investment management. For the past 20 years, she has been associated with the Media Development Investment Fund, where she has been the Chief Investment Officer and Management Board Member, specializing in direct investments in media companies in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America for the past nine years. Previously, she worked at, among others, Fidea Management, the management company of X NFI, CIECH S.A. and Bank Handlowy in Warsaw. Anna Kryńska-Godlewska is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics, Faculty of Finance and Banking System and the Institute Francais de Gestion, and has undertaken further professional training, i.a. at Harvard Business School. Currently Mrs. Kryńska-Godlewska is a Member of the Supervisory Board of Agora SA.
Grzegorz Kania specializes in financial management and has nearly twenty years of experience in international companies. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in consulting and auditing services for companies in the new technology, media and entertainment industries. In 2003-2008, he was Deputy Chief Financial Officer of UPC Polska. In 2008-2011, he was responsible for finances of the Scandinavian BLStream Capital Group (now Intive), a provider of mobile applications and other IT solutions. Since 2012 he has been CFO at Ringier Axel Springer Poland and since 2014 he worked as CFO in Onet-RAS Poland Group. Grzegorz Kania graduated the Faculty of Computer Science and Management at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and has been an ACCA member since 2001.
Maciej Wiśniewski, a founder and managing director of Macromoney UK Ltd., is a candidate to the Supervisory Board of the Company.
Maciej Wiśniewski has twenty years of experience in investment management and investment funds. He successfully founded, developed and sold Investors Towarzystwo Funduszy Inwestycyjnych S.A., which was one of the first private investment fund companies on the Polish market. Previously, he was associated with BZ WBK AIB Asset Management and LG Bank. He started his professional career at Raiffeisen Capital and Bank Millennium. Maciej Wiśniewski graduated from the Faculty of Finance and Banking at the Warsaw School of Economics and the Faculty of Finance at London Business School.
