"Gazeta Wyborcza" Library and online bookstore Publio.pl introduce minibooks for the first time in Poland

Press release

"New York Times", "The Guardian" and now "Gazeta Wyborcza" Library and online bookstore Publio.pl introduce minibooks onto the Polish market. Minibooks are short literary forms in a digital format popular in the US and Great Britain.

Minibooks are sets of short texts - reportages, interview, biographies and interesting stories composed into a coherent aggregate - which can be read on a computer, tablet, digital leader, smart phone or mobile phone.

- This short form is extremely popular in the world. Large press and book publishers introduce this format on e-book platforms: Amazon with Kindle Singles, :The Guardian" with Guardian Shorts and Penguin with e-specials - says Malgorzata Skowronska, publishing director in Special Projects division in Agora S.A. - We are glad to be the first ones in Poland to offer minibooks to Polish readers. We believe that they will soon become popular also in Poland.

Since today, in Publio.pl the readers can find prepared in the form of minibook stories by Stephen King and "Lapidaria" by Ryszard Kapuściński as well as titles from the series entitled "Minibooks of Gazeta Wyborcza". The series is composed by Agora's Publishing House in co-operation with authors and editors of "Gazeta Wyborcza" taking advantage of the vast archives of the daily. The readers may find in the series, inter alia, texts by Mariusz Szczygieł ("Laska tworzenia"), Jacek Hugo-Bader ("Chłopcy z motylkami"), Witold Szablowski ("To z miłości siostro") and joint publications: "Ksiądz polski", "Korpo polo" and "Skandynawski raj".

Each Friday new texts will be addend to the offer.

Minibooks are available for download in Pub and Mobi formats.
