"Papusza" film by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze, was granted 2 main prizes during 12th International Film Festival in Pune: for the best feature film and for the best direction.
14 movies took part in the competition and among them, inter alia, "Night Train to Lisbon" by Billy August and awarded for the script in Cannes "A touch of sin" by Jia Zhangke.

"Papusza's" awards from Pune are consecutive prizes granted to the film.The movie was awarded earlier during festivals in Gdynia, Karlowe Wary, Saloniki and Valladolid and during film operators Manaki Brothers. In February, "Papusza" will be screened during International Film Festival in Rotterdam.
"Papusza" presents a touching story of an extraordinary woman - Bronislawa Wajs, the first Romany poet, who written and published her poems. The movie, with black and white pictures by Krzysztof Ptak and Wojciech Staroń and with dialogues in Romany language, create exceptional atmosphere. Music created by Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz complements the film production.
