Poster Gallery
AMS hosts its own unique outdoor project intended to enhance recognition of outdoor advertising and to improve quality of poster design. The long- term objective of the program is to improve the quality of advertising posters and to create new aesthetic standards.
Once a year AMS organizes a poster design contest dedicated to social issues. During such contest, young graphic designers learn how to work with outdoor advertising. Afterwards, all winning posters are presented in the nationwide promotional campaign executed on AMS panels.
Till now 9 editions of the contest took place. The first one dealt with the promotion of cities and regions, second with vandalism, the third edition encouraged press reading, the fourth one aimed at drawing attention to unequal status of the disabled. The fifth edition was dedicated to poster promoting 20th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, the sixth one to the debate on Internet's social role and the eighth one promoted cycling as the healthy way of life as well as practical and environment friendly way of traveling in large cities. In 2009, the jury of the competition rewarded the most interesting poster promoting Frederic Chopin's relations with Warsaw - all the works submitted illustrated the motto "Frederic! Come back to Warsaw!".
AMS's Poster Gallery was awarded in competition organized by Media Trendy 2005 in the category: social marketing and awarded by WiK: "Wprost & Culture" with the diploma - "Approval Sign".
Another important aspect of this campaign are lectures at fine arts academies, where heads of creative divisions of advertising agencies meet together with art scholars. The organizers of the Gallery believe that such exchange of opinions and experiences would benefit future graduates who plan to work in advertising. This in turn should be reflected in the quality of future street posters.
