LOTTERY "FREE AN AGENT" (November 2008)

The lottery "Free an Agent" accompanied the premiere of a new James Bond film "Quantum of Solace". Metro's readers were to send SMS at a given phone number and crack the four-digit code. Each day, a winner was drawn out of a hat containing all the correct answers. The winner received a prize of PLN 2000.

COMPETITION PAGE (since September 2006)

Every Friday on the "Metro City" culture supplement there is an SMS competition page, where over 100 different prizes can be won, including CDs, concert and cinema tickets, books, albums, premiere DVD titles, computer games, foreign language courses, and so on.

"Metro" is also full of attractive prizes to be won on special days of the year like Children's Day, Mother's Day, St. Valentine's Day, or St. Nicholas' Day.

METRO AUKCJA (METRO AUCTION) LOTTERY (June 2006)

The rules for the "Metro Aukcja" lottery were unusual, and at the same time very simple. In contrast to the classic auction, the winners of "Metro Auction" were those people who, in each round, sent SMSs with the lowest unique bid for the lot "under the hammer". A unique bid was one given by one individual during the bidding, i.e. no-one else sent the same bid and it was the lowest of the unique bids.

In every round of the lottery three auctions were run simultaneously. A variety of prizes went under the hammer: plasma screen TVs, laptops, digital cameras, iPods, and also irons and food processors. In addition, in each round monetary prizes could be won by participants in the lottery.

PICK THE RED & WHITES' RESULT LOTTERY (June 2006)

The promotional "Pick the Red & Whites' Result" lottery was run during the 2006 Football World Cup. To take part, all that was needed was to send an SMS with a match result for the Polish team. The lottery ran in three parts. Each of them was assigned to one of the Polish Team's matches in the World Cup. The prizes on offer in the lottery were digital cameras and "lucky loser" monetary prizes of PLN 1 000.

METRO JUMP FOR PRIZES LOTTERY (June 2005)

This was the first lottery organised by "Metro" for its Readers. To take part, the reader had to enter the game and guess the coded day's password which was sent to them by SMS. Everyone who guessed at least one password was entered into the prize draws: notebook computers, digital cameras, MP3 players, and the main prize of PLN 20 000.
